Since we're all sick to death of telling people how to save .BMP, here's a simpler guide:
First, turn on your computer:
Ha, I'm just fuckin' with ya. But seriously, it needs to be on for the following steps to work.
1) Go on the web page that has the image that you need to save convert into .BMP. In this case, I want the 'Play Now' button from the lobby, so I make sure that it is showing on my screen:
Notice the mad paint skillz.
2) Press 'Print Screen' on your keyboard. Alot of the time, it is referred to as 'Prt Sc'. It's located here(ish):
3) Open up paint by clicking the 'Start' button, the 'Accessories' folder, and the 'Paint' application:
4) Now that 'Paint' is open, we need to click some stuff. First, click 'Paste' to paste your print of the screen into 'Paint'. Next, click 'Select' and create a box around the part of the image you wish to keep (Note: When saving a BMP, the top left corner of the cropped image is what the bot will click, so always make sure that it's clickable.). When satisfied with the selected portion, click 'Crop':
5) You should have something which looks a bit like this now:
Let's save it. Click the 'File' icon, the 'Save As' arrow, and '.BMP':
Check that the 'File Name' is the same as the BMP you want to replace (current .BMP's are located in the 'data\BMP' folder of BetaBot'), and that the 'File Type' is a 24-Bitmap Image:
6) Yipee! We're done. If you didn't save the .BMP in the 'data\BMP' folder of the bot, drag that fucker in there!
Before I forget, Microsoft XP users won't have a crop tool... typical Microsoft. Take a look at this link to see how to get around it: lhammonds XP Croppin' - ignore step 10.
Hoping this maxed out your bandwidth allowance,
Jordan.
